Choose Happiness – Because Life Won't Choose It for You

Looking at this picture of me and my sister, I’m reminded of one thing: SMILE. Not because life’s been easy, not because the pain magically disappears—but because we still have more blessings to count than reasons to throw ourselves a pity party.

Y’all, 2024 was NOT my year. I lost my mama. I lost my fur baby of 15 years. I faced transitions I’m still not ready to talk about. And let me tell you, I’ve had my share of ugly cries in the car, screaming matches with God, and those “why me?” moments. But when the dust settled, I had to ask myself a hard question:

What’s left?

What’s left is this—I still have breath in my body, love in my heart, and the strength to fight for joy. And that’s what I’m choosing to focus on. Because no matter how hard life punches, we are more capable than we give ourselves credit for. The only thing stopping us is the negotiation we keep having with ourselves—the excuses, the "not yets," the "maybes."

Not anymore. Not me. Not in 2025.

This year, I’m stepping into my passion AND my purpose.

* My passion? Helping women see their worth, their power, and their potential.

* My purpose? Using that passion to create workshops, build connections, and empower women to navigate life transitions without fear.

Because let’s be real: life transitions are HARD, REALLY HARD! Whether it’s an empty nest, a divorce, being a single mom, starting a business, or just staring at the highlight reel of someone else’s life and wondering why yours doesn’t look like that—it’s easy to feel stuck. I’ve been there. But I’m here to tell you, you don’t have to stay there.

I wasn’t raised to be quiet about what matters. My mama used to joke, “Shannon Lynn, if you say that, I’m gonna spank you.” And guess what? I said it anyway. Got the spanking and went right back to speaking my mind. Side bar I needed those and many more. That boldness has carried me through life—and let me tell you, God didn’t give me this voice for nothing.

So here’s my message to you: Stop negotiating with yourself. Stop hiding. Stop letting fear keep you from showing up as the fierce, flawed, unstoppable woman you are.

Whatever gifts you’ve been given, they weren’t meant to stay buried. Don’t carry them to the grave. SHARE THEM! YES THEM! Live boldly. Choose happiness.

And if you don’t know how to take that first step, let’s figure it out together. Because 2025 is the year we stop waiting and start living.

With love and a whole lot of unapologetic sass,

Shannon🩷
